One can only guess at what other plants may be found in the many thousands of acres not covered in the program. Program time is about 30 minutes.
192 slides
8. WINTER HARDY CACTI IN CENTRAL CONNECTICUT
This program is based on John Spain's more than twenty years of growing cacti in outdoor beds without protection. The program shows the large number of species he has found that are hardy even in the cold damp winters of the northeastern U. S. It includes tips on site selection or development, shows the large number of species he has found to be hardy, and comments on some plants he has found marginal at best. Excellent for anyone interested in growing succulents out of doors in northern states. Narration by John Spain, graphics and recording courtesy of Al Boyer. Both are members of the Connecticut Cacti and Succulent Society. Program time is about 30 minutes.
136 slides
9. CAUDICIFORM SUCCULENTS
Gordon Rowley briefly mentions the pioneers of the cult in Britain, explains the loosely defined separation of the three major types and two subgroups. He covers a few plants in various transitional stages from some of the largest genera of succulents. He then goes on to present many examples of the three major groups with the largest number being those in the caudiciform group. Even without a preview of the program, it isn't difficult to determine where slide changes should be made and with a preview, it's a breeze. Program time is about 60 minutes.
